It's up to you how you do this but Zalman offer a little kit to do it for you.

Cheers

I used diodes in series with the + line on mine... each diode drops some voltage, but to get from 12 to 7 would prob take a fair few....

im getting a fan controller with my new case off phil but i just wanted to see how noisy they would be @ 7v before hand, and the new rad teh pa one, plus a 38mm fan and barbs makes it wlle thick im gunna loose about 3 drive bays :(

ok i posted a thread regarding this on the hard forum so ill try find it in a min cause i cant really remeber!

However this is what i think each wire is from a molex :

Yellow = 5V

Black = 0V

Black=0V

Red=12V

and basically all you do is get the red wire of your fan and put that in the yellow slot then put the black in the red slot... but let me just check.

For a long term solution i wouldnt use that solution though, i know you are only using it short term, but for anyone else looking a fan controller or pull down resistor in series is a better option, the 12V-5V lin method means you feed current back into your PSU and it can kill PSUs, particularly the less quality cheaper ones, so always go for the real fan controller, it will give you more options and not leave you with any worries.

i get oenw ith my case i was more after what it would sound like and what kinda air flow id get, the panaflow m1's are very good at producing air flow id say im getting around 50 cfms at around 20 db at 7v just bout audiable put it that was as when i hooked up teh 3 fans at 12v i nearly went deff lol so 3 a 7v was nice!!
