6970 faulty?

Hi guys,
I think my gpu might be starting to die.

It keeps crashing / artifacting in sleeping dogs no matter what settings / configurations .etc

I think its the gpu, However the crash does produce a noise (litterally sounds like a deamon of a horror film) through the speakers.

Anyway, is there a program to test the health of a graphics card?

Have you tried other games?
Also, try unigine.

do you monitor your hardware (afterburner, sidebar-gadgets, etc.)? i had the same problem with bfbc2 and disabling monitoring softwares fixxed it. Realtek audio driver installed? that might be the reason as well.

I'm not having trouble with other games, but then again, i'm not a huge pc gamer. Dirt 3 runs fine, but what dosent run dirt 3 fine.

Im only monitoring through catalyst for gpu temps.
Audio drivers are all there.

Uninstall Catalyst, use Driversweeper to delete any remains. Reinstall the latest non-beta driver and see how the game goes. Failing that, try uninstalling/reinstalling the game.

Download Unigine Heaven and run that and see if you get errors.

It could be a problem with the game files causing the crash or the GPU.

If it runs on unigine fine, then you'll know it's the the game.

I'd put it down to the game then.

If it on steam? If so, right click the game on the steam list, then click properties, local files tab and verify inregrity of game cache.

Then try again. If you still have no luck, reinstall the game.

I'm assuming you've already reinstalled driver and everything by this point.

I wouldnt normally put this much effort into a game but its not bad when it works.
