6870 - 780

I currently use a hd 6870 and i was thinking about a gigabyte 780.

The prices have already dropped massively and i was wondering if you think it would drop anymore from now up until just after xmas.

I would be slightly annoyed if i waited until xmas for a price drop and there wasn't one or it was so insignificant and i could have been playing with the 780 all that time.

Your thoughts?

Huffffff. Tricky.

Personally, I'm thinking anything coming is going to be achieveable with an overclock of the current cards.....

That being said, if you don't overclock (yeah I know), then waiting it out may be an idea. I don't see the prices dropping again on cards that have already dropped. There are some clingers-on to the old prices still.

Who knows. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any 780 over your 6870, whichever choice you make.

Could wait till a 290 comes out. Should be on par with a 780 and price wars between them would make them drop slightly. Personally with so much GPU market activity going on IMO it is worth the wait no matter what happens.
