6800U Bios

Just wondering what this bios i see floating about is for..?

I have a BFG 6800U OC and i see some ppl flashing there cards with it..

Why..?

It giving better OC results..?

I got the same card mate, flashed it with the bios Phil put up and it's now at 474/1.29. Definately better OC results.

Well that bios has worked a treat...

B4 i could only just bench at 450/1200 but now it flys threw with no probs

Gonna see what my max is abit later.. will post results..

No, it's with water cooling.

Thought so...

Ive noticed the card is alot hotter now so im guessing that bios has modded the volts to the gpu..

But after benching a couple of times the card still only got to 59C...

Just had a look in the Bios and there is no Voltage increase at all so i find this abit strange that i can now bench at these speeds...

I just checked it using Omni Extreme Edit FX which allows you to edit your own bioses and Animal's right, there are no voltage increases, very strange.

i beleave there's a link in one of the posts here to another forum ware they discussed all about the bios mod, in short i would guess that the mod does up the viltage by 0.1 also that there are several versions of the bios editor and some didnt show things correctly namely some showed the bios to be set at 1.4 but was at 1.5, i cant remember it all but if interested have a look and if i find the link i'll post it back.
