yeah it does seem that the X800XT is the better card atm, tho it doesnt support PS 3, so it isnt quite as future compatible, buy saying that the R500 is in the making, so i guess the X800 series is just buying them some time and keeping nvidea off their customers
Im gonna be buying an X800XT also, but just water cooling, no pelt :S
Shootout in July 2004 Custom PC - on Wolfenstein, Splinter Cell an UT2003 with 4xAA & 8xAF with 1600 x 1200 res the XT outscored the 6800 and they reckon the X800 is the card to beat. However, its lack of Shader Model 3 support MAY be an achilles heel in the future.
Well I've still gone 6800 Ultra. I dont know why but I've had enough of ATI cards now. Plus the nvidia beast support Fog Table Emulation properly, whereas the ATi card doesnt.
how far is the R500 core away? I can't afford these constant upgrades! probably buy the X800Xt (possible the X880XT if my mobo has PCI-E on it - not that I can see it making hardly any performance gain) I will be putting a 172W pelt on it
