600T w/ Noctua fans everywhere?

I've looked around google for some program to run to measure the sound levels but completely unsuccessful. Also considering just replacing my 600T with something else, partly just in case the H100 with fans in push doesn't fit. Mostly because after fussing with the royal mail for just about 4 months my order from Radcarton is black instead of white and Ian hasn't responded. getting some white side panels for my 600T and spraying the mesh panels on the roof and front white but thats off topic.

The fans currently in my case are: 3x Arctic F12s, 1x Xigmatek XAF 140mm white. Are they are all loud, even though the Xigmatek fan is only advertised as 19dB, it's probably louder than the >23dB AC F12s.

Yeh its hard to find such a program. I just downloaded a dB meter app for my iPhone and used that. It's actually very sensitive.

Can't really comment about those fans, but I should suspect the noctuas will be quieter than them. But for some reason I'm not 100% happy with them. Perhaps it's me just expecting it to make no noise rather than little noise!

Well Noctuas are pretty expensive fans, I only paid £3.50 for the AC F12s they just seem a bit on the loud side. Maybe the Bitfenix Spectres would be a decent alternative for me. Original colour scheme was going to be black and white but the Noctua fans kind of tie in with the sabertooth board.

I have the white 600t, which has the higher airflow Corsair 200mm fans.

The other day I replaced the top one with one of the Bitfenix 200mm Spectres. It's definitely a LOT quieter, and moves enough air for my needs.

Has anyone considered getting the Bitfenix 120mm Spectre Pro's which have just come out? I'm waiting for them to come in stock on a certain website, wanna put a pair of those up top, and the quiet 200mm in the front. Not sure if it will be quieter over all though... the noisest part of the PC is the front 200mm fan (currently still Corsair)

if you want black/white theme then have a look at the fractal silent fans, they are real silent, certainly as quiet as if not quieter than the noctuas! Noctuas are expensive, i don't mind the colour so much, but their build quality is superb! And yeh i can see then matching the sabertooth board.

I have the 600TM which has the same fans as the white 600T, they were too loud though and I wanted them out, the front fan is loud because of the grill in front of it, any fan you put in will be louder than it should be though obviously a fan that is normally quieter than the corsair fan would be quieter. Also, only 20mm thick 200mm fans will fit where the corsair fan does, you can however use a 120mm fan on 140mm with a 120mm mount frame there, from my own experience. 120 and 140 w/120mm mount fans can also fit just behind the removable mesh on the very front if you remove the plastic.

@Simsimma4: The solid white original bitfenix spectres push a fair amount of air and are still fairly quiet, obviously not as quiet as the ULNA Noctuas or the Fractals. I'm not too sure what to do cost wise, whether to pay just about the same amount of money as the H100 for Noctuas or get some spectres for probably about half the price.

Edit: Just found these, 14dB at 53CFM Enermax fans.

I have one of those fans in the middle of my case blowing air over the GFX, I've always liked the Enermax Batwing design, it is quiet and you can feel a lot of air. And this one looks good too.

Think my plan is to put the 200mm specture (20mm thick) in the front, I found a way of making it a bit quieter in the front is by adding a bit more of a gap, i.e, packing it out with an extra rubber washer, made a difference to mine.

Then putting a pair of nice looking and quiet fans at the top.

Ok so i finally got to put my rig together and fired it up, Wow it's super quiet! well worth the money! my initial fears are gone! i couldn't even hear it running! superb! I haven't installed all the bits or even operation system yet, but once i do then i'll properly test it out and see how the performance is.

Sadly I have been unable to find a place that currently has them in stock, can you tell me if it's as quiet as advertised or louder, please?

@Simsimma4: Good to hear, you have the ULNA on everything don't you? Have you tried them with the LNA and with no adapter to see the difference?

No I have not, but that's a good thought. If I get spare time I might play around with the adapters. See how much difference it makes. I suspect it won't be much different.

The cluster fan is definately not a noisy one, that's for sure. Be aware that mine isn't placed on edge of a case as an exhaust or intake so it's somewhat more muffled in there, and isn't pulling air through any grills.

Thanks Grummers, the way I'm planning to fit two 120mm fans in the front of my case they'll have about 3cm clearance from the front mesh panel, so it shouldn't add too much noise. Only problem now is finding somewhere that has the clusters in stock

Not 100% sure if you are still interested in how loud the fans will be, but I only came across this thread today. Well one NF-F12 is 22.4dB, so assuming the label is correct and that the fans are next to each other, than 7 fans will be 30.85dB. 5 fans will be 29.39db

Yeah thanks, it at least gives me some idea as to how much louder it gets the more fans you add.

@Grummers: both in front of the HDD cages where the front 200mm fan usually is, going to do some cutting when I get this http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Pulse-Modding-Double-Radiator-Stand-pid-12283.html and fix the plate in so that it looks clean and done properly, will eventually replace the other 3 120mm fans in the top and rear.

interesting product that. I don't think I could bring my self to cut up my case though, especially since I have 0 skill/experience with cutting tools anyway.

If I ever decide to I would start with something cheaper where it doesn't matter if I make a dog's dinner from it.

I fortunately have some experience with it but even so, if it was out in the open and noticable, I wouldn't attempt it, at least this mesh is covered by plastic and more mesh. I'll be putting the 240 plate on front of it anyways so you'd only really see any mess if you took the HDD cages out.

Got the 240 stand ordered now along with a fan controller that was on sale for £4 (epic 83% off sale price) they should arrive thursday or friday.

If one fan is 22.4dB, two fans = 25.4dB. Third fan will make the total 27.17dB. Fourth fan 28.4dB. Decibels (perceived loudness) is logarithmic in nature, hence why the more fans you add the less gain in decibels compared to the previous fans. I always knew doing Physics in university would come handy one day xD
