512mb 7800GTX Ultra

Oh dear...*scrambles for credit card*

A post on Overclockers UK has hinted that nvidia will be lreasing a 512mb version of the 7800GTX: called the Ultra.

On November 7th OcUK will be launch partner with NVIDIA on the new faster clocked 512MB 7800 GTX which will further establish NVIDIA as performance leader and OcUK will have priority allocation on 512MB cards which could also mean we have exclusivity, and unlike ATI, NVIDIA will be shipping plenty of stock throughout November.

So why are we supposed to buy an x1800xt? remind me?

Well we don't know for sure if it would be faster, but with deep suspicions of a higher clocked card with a dual slot solution I'll be holding my breath for a big green blowout of the x1800xt

yeah heard about this a couple of days ago (yeah i read some news!)

imo it will be as big a waste of time as the 512mb 6800u, but i suppose only time will tell. not that i could ever afford one of these neway.
