512 GDDR3 or 256 GDDR4

I was looking at 2 cards the other day:

1) Gecube 2600 XT (256mb) (GDDR4) (PCI-E x16) (DX10)

2) XFX GeForce 8600GTS (512MB) (DDR3) (PCI-E x16) (DX10)

The 2600 XT has a 800mhz core and 2200mhz mem, but ive reviewed that the 256 version of the 8600GTS beats the 2600.

512mb = better for bigger resolutions

256mb = faster, but not so good for bigger resolutions

if that helps explain it?

out of those, i would choose the 8600GT, had one before, very nice cards tbh

It looks a lot better than the 8600 and 2700 and isn't really much more at all. Might be worth a go ?

ye ive seen this card Isnt that a PCi E 2.0 card tho? might have to get a mobo with 1.1 or 2.0 lol

get it, far superior to the other cards mentioned and awesome price vs performance
