Kinda nuts that AMD's 9000 series only launched 3 months ago and everyones already clawing for the next gen.

That's always the way of things. Everyone always wants to know about the next thing. The hype train can't stop.

It's kind a funny how the "wait for (insert next thing)" discussion never stops. Even when a new thing just launched.

I’m happy for now it would really depend on need vs want or other software changes etc as tbh the 9070xt i have is stomping on games so were see but while my nephew got my 6800xt to borrow im sure he would like an upgrade to my current card but we’re see cause maybe udna 2 would be more sensible choice for me after going zen6.

I'm more interested in their software side of things. Working directly with Sony and MS on next gen games gives them a pretty good idea of what needs to happen and what the future holds for what they can develop now to fit needs later. Also consider optimizations for their hardware.

If AMD can step up their software side of the GPU market, they will bring back good old Radeon days of competition.

Well honestly speaking amds driver software has been better since i got the 6800xt back at launch than nvidia was at the time and the only area they were behind on was dxr which now they very much are not behind at all I'd say the areas where nvidia are ahead is in the streaming side with assistants etc but tbh i simply don't need that stuff myself so would prefer that amd focus on overall useful things than gimmicks myself.

Amd are near on par in terms of gaming with fsr4 now and software side of things they make to add to it well im not sure myself cause everything i do or use works fine i would say it's more vulkan and ue5 areas they need to focus but atm it's very guided with ms and sony and tbh that will become an issue for nvidia eventually i feel.

I just feel unless needed i simply will wait longer and focus on cpu upgrade first but anyone thinking that the 9k series or future udna cards are far behind nvidia are extremely wrong in this thinking.

Sure nvidia were significantly ahead in 6k era and still in 7k but with 9k and forwards nvidia do not have the lead they once did not remotely if amd make a 9080xt the 5090 can even be given a real task at trying let alone a 9090xt i honestly think nvidia would lose that cause even the 4090 ti is a better card in my view with less issues and enough performance cause the 5k series regardless of design are in my view pretty poor cards let alone if they repeat the mistakes made with the coming 6k cards.

Thou why would nvidia care they will just keep selling in the ai sector.
