4K Over HDMI help please!

Hey,

I bought a new Sony Bravia 4K TV and I was wanting to try out the 4K on my PC. So I've hooked it up but Windows 7 is only showing 1920 X 1080. I've tried changing to 30Hz and check the resolutions in CCC but 1080P is still max. CCC is showing 4096x2160 as the TV maximum supported resolution and maximum refresh rate of 75HZ

PC specs are
Intel Core i7 6700K
R9 290
Maximus Hero VIII Motherbaord
16GB Corsair Vengance

Thanks,
Alistair

It looks good but I never played any games. The pictures is cropped off the screen like the start button and clock are off the left and right of the screen. But there is no scaling options in CCC when in 4K any suggestions ?

That's usually because a TV is not as precise as a monitor. IE - it's not actually a true 2160p. There are options in the CCC under Image Scaling preferences, try those.

I know with Nvidia there's a tool that actually adjusts the desktop size which works really well on TVs.

Is the resolution of your TV 3840 x 2160 (Ultra high def) or 4096 x 2304 (full 4K)?

CCC seems to think it's 4096 x 2304 from how you describe.

There may be an option in the TV settings as well. I had the same issue with my Samsung - if HDMI input was labeled PC it would scale 1:1 however if it was labeled Blue Ray or game or anything else it would overscan and the desktop would stretch out off the screen and look horrible despite the PC settings.
