4K gaming on Ultra

I just watched Asus ROG Striker 4GB GTX760 SLI Review.

I listen to the VRAM technology and now i have a very hard time on picking between Asus Matrix GTX780 TI in SLI or ASUS GeForce STRIX GTX 780 6GB or ASUS GTX Titan Black in SLI because i am getting the ASUS PB287Q when it arrives. I have seen review after review and it looks like i dont need the VRAM.

I want to play on Ultra settings i play Far Cry 3, Battlefield 4 and Watch_Dogs.

The Titan Blacks will offer the best performance out of the 3 cards you mentioned, but not by alot from what reviews I have seen around when running games at 4K.

The Titan Blacks offer better average and minimum frame rates in games that use alot of Vram like, Crysis 3 and probably Watch Dog's but in other games they are neck and neck with the 780Ti's.

Personally if I was you I would just grab a card if you need one now to put you on until the 800 series launch, considering they are meant to have 8Gb of Vram on the 880.

If I was buying now and couldn't wait and I had the money for Titan Blacks in SLI then, I would probably grab them to be honest.

4K gaming is still not a good choiche nowadays, you will need at least 2 expensive cards to drive your (expensive) monitor and still have low performance... Aside raw GPU performance, games aren't still develped to work well at that resolution

Nvidia's next GPU's won't be with us until either the end of the year or start of the next one so buy the best you can at the moment.

two sapphire 290x vapor-x 8gb editions could do it just as well I might add ;), its neck and neck when it comes to 4k with the 290x/780ti. then again I imagine that you're going for some ROG themed build...

Thanks you. The ASUS PB287Q is still not available (released) in stores in Denmark today. I have Preorderd it. So i am waiting for it to arrive. That gives me extra time to think about all that VRAM talk. It leads me back to Asus R9 290X DirectCU II in CF. But there is not a word about 4K gaming in TTL's review off that card. But the 290X sends me back to the 4 GB VRAM sweet spot. I am just thinking about saving some Money with 2 of these Cards in CF now and then upgrade to GTX 880 when they are released. Sorry for my bad English.

Those particular 290x aren't very good, Asus didn't do well with the cooling on them and they nearly get as hot as the stock cards.

If two Asus R9 290X DirectCU II in CF is not a Lucky Shot then i might as well buy two MSI R9 290X Lightning and then it is allmost at the same cost as a Club 3D R9 295x2.

Okay, In the video above i see the TITAN BLACK in SLI is the best card. Two of them is quite expensive for me. How long time can i play games on Ultra in future games (2015-2016.)
With TITAN BLACK.

Gaming in 4k in ultra is going to be not worth it if you're trying to stick to a budget of any form.

Have you even tried 4k gaming?

Exactly and that is why when I do get a 4K monitor in certain games I will either drop the, resolution or drop the details slightly so I can maintain atleast a 60fps mark.

If needed I could always add a 3rd card but it would depend on what my system performs like.

Either way if anyone is thinking about 4K then they need to make sure they have a budget, that will cope with buying atleast 2 cards or potentially even 3.

4K it looks like this.
