4A Games Releases Metro Exodus' PC System Requirements

Reassuring to know my Vega64 is more than enough for 1080p despite Metro being a GPU hog. Would have liked to see some Ryzen CPUs listed even though I doubt it'll be a major issue

Hmm. 1080p with Vega 64, or 1440p with Titan XP?

Or both :D

Very excited about this game and New Dawn.

why would you need a 9900k instead of a 8700k at 4k ress?, I doubt the cpu will be the limiting factor at that ress

Ahh, they always do that. They're just covering themselves by saying you need something top-end and powerful. It basically means, the most powerful processor will be best. It doesn't mean you need a 9900K if you want 4k/60FPS and have a 2080Ti. A 9700K, 8700K or 2700X will be likely totally fine.

That's me not meeting the 1440p requirements (and who knows what specific settings they used), too bad! Still, pretty decent recommendations.

I would wait and see. It all depends if they are factoring RTX into that, or, whether it's disabled or, the impact RTX will/will not have. Too many variables to throw in the towel just yet fella.

What I know (and have been repeating) is that when interviewed absolutely ages ago they confessed it was a GPU killer. This is why I keep saying, wait until you see a game that really pushes the RTX hard before you see their temps etc.

I also reckon that this game will be hard to run because of its open nature. I mean, Last Light was a GPU cooker and it was very linear and almost impossible to wander off piste.

Then of course there are some other things to consider.. Will RTX even be worth it? because it looks pretty action packed. So like, would you notice when you are running for your life?

I'm glad they kept the spider webs. That was proper creepy and I loved setting them on fire haha.

Sod it, bit the bullet and pre ordered :D

@AlienALX could be yeah and I do prefer to await deep analyses. But a GPU cooker it will be!! Looks very pretty though and atmospheric too.

Damn those GPU recommendations are insane. It'll be the new Crysis by the looks of it

I think it's fair to say this is a PC game, not a 'port'. That's mostly why I've pre ordered it :)

Also, my apologies for being short sighted. I see this is without RTX. It is nice to see Vega 64 stacked with the 1080ti and 2070, though. I've read that in proper DX12 titles it's up there with those cards.

Recommended: RTX 2060
VRAM: 8GB

:thinking_emoji:

I think the 2060 may be a rock and hard place in this. Either 1080p 60 or lower with RTX. From what I saw from early screens it looks like the RT is heavy in this game too, though they may have dialled that back (having said that 4a are not known for that)

Like Crysis when the original game first launched the hardware to run it properly didn't exist.

My point is that they recommend 8gb vram and a 6gb card at the same time. :P

I'd be surprised if 2060 actually struggled to reach 1080p60 or even 1440p60 at reasonable settings. I don't find rtx reasonable for now.

One of the few games that I will buy 100%. Read the book and just got hooked on the redux bundle. Want this soo bad.

This and the new Tomb Raider.... need..

I stopped playing 2033 because it felt.. Hmm, how do I say it? watery? kinda like the graphics were among the best I'd seen but the game itself didn't have much flavour. It was also way too hard.

I'm surprised Last Light bit me the way that it did tbh, because I was expecting more of the same (figuring "Ah well, it will give my hardware a good workout"). Never been so wrong about a game. It too was rather scant on ammo, but it was there if you put in the legwork to find it. Which felt almost deliberate by the game's creators, as if they were saying "Seek the ammo to see all of the game and find the rewards". It just didn't seem to have that flow in 2033.

Also the "soul" or whatever those black figures are? incredible. I've never felt so emotionally attached to any character in any game. It was just unbelievably good.

The combat? a bit repetitive. IE, when you figure out that duck/cover/pop out aim is how you win the game then that is pretty much all you need to do. However, that still took time to perfect and so on.

I may well go on to read the books. Need to get my eyesight sorted first though, as it makes me get a headache real quick (so I suspect my prescription has changed).

I loved the being short on ammo aspect! "Do I load it or use it as currency?" loved it!!

Yeah you definitely had to pick your moments rather than taking random shots.

I never sold any, I just sold everything else to buy ammo with :D

I've been getting into Prey on my Xbox 1x, so this will be my go to PC game. Well, on my main rig.

We probably all remember the start of a fight and not paying attention to the UI and hearing the click of an empty weapon and go "aw". Hyped for exodus!
