4770k win7 vs win10 gaming performance

I'm running win7 with intel 4770k, would directx 12 improve performance even with all of the security fixes for older intel CPUs that hamper performance?

Depends on which game and with which GPU, but it definitely won't be a performance regression, Win7 has had more or less all of Win10's security patches backported to it, uses all of Win10's telemetry & other security systems since the latter's launch. Then Win10 has reduced RAM usage and better resource management amongst other things.

That depends on the game. But you will have much better overall experience. Win10 has much less overhead than Win7.

I have disabled auto updates and rolled back after it has started nagging me to install win10, so no security patches are installed.
I'll buy new (used) gpu soon, nVidia 1070 or 1080.

You should never do that. No matter how irritating, Windows updates are actually very important.

Exactly my point. That machine has all of your email, gaming accounts, and credit card information. It is a gold mine.
Only account that machine has is steam and I use 2 factor, it doesn't even have my GOG account, let alone credit cards or email. so don't worry about it.
