EIST will tend to add more voltage when turbo is kicked in( i think may be wrong) resulting in more volts than needed which is heat and therefore noise.
That's probably correct but most of the time on my pc i'll be watching a film or playing dota or something which doesn't come close to needing 4.4GHz so surely the saving is worth it?
