Is samsung s23a700D any good 3D screen for movies and gaming? I have SLI 570 So i can run 120Hz...

Will you be using your computer to play the movies or something else?

I would look at this http://www.newegg.co...N82E16824236092 since it comes with a 3D vision kit, you still need to purchase glasses and an emitter with the Samsung right?

However the Samsung is LED backlit and to some it is a benefit.

http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/LS23A700DS%2FEN-DEMO Screen comes with goggles.. I dont need the nvidia package that makes non 3D screens to support 3D? Or am i wrong?

I see i need to buy Nvidia 3D kit so no 3D for me then

How about this panel any good? : Asus VE278Q LED

Oh, if it comes with glasses then nvm I had moment of stupid the Samsung looks great I'd go for it.

The VE278Q isn't 120hz, so I wouldn't go for it.

Can i use 120hz refresh rate without 3D as i understand that that screen supports 3d and comes with glasses but are those glasses same as nvidia 3d witch comes with transmitter and glasses...

Active 3d- ie nvidia 3d vision- needs 120Hz, 60Hz for each eye. Passive 3d -ie that samsung- use 60Hz over both eyes, so you will notice no difference in 3D FPS. 120Hz makes desktop use soooo nice and smooth, but it's not essential for 3D

So i can play with 120hz without having to use 3D goggles? Ofcourse there will bee no 3D effect

Yeah, 120Hz is the refresh rate of the monitor. It means it displays up to 120 Fps. A traditional 60Hz monitor can only display 60fps.

And yes, I use it all the time, rarely in 3D infact. It makes general usage much much much smoother
