3870X2's in crossfire

Is it worth doing?

Overclockers UK are selling them for £141, and seen as i've already got one...

Would be going an an Asus P5k, Q6600 @ 3.4ghz, 4gb 1066mhz Crucial Ballistix ram. Currently using a 19" monitor at 1440x900, but plan on dualling it with a 22" when i get back off holiday.

if you do it, it would be a pretty beastly rig, but with all these new ati offerings, i think the 38xx series will soon be a bit outdated. however, if futureproofing doesn't matter too much, then i'm sure 3870x2's in crossfire will give you the most performance for less than £150.

A single 4870 beats the 3870X2 so just get one 4870 and add an additional one when you can

i did two lower end sli set ups before i did the right thing... get the best card you can at the time then sli it when you could.
