3870 Xfire with 3850!

Clearly shows that a 3870 with a 3850 does indeed work and seems to do quite well, could be CPU bottleneck of coarse but I doubt it.

So, yeh, pretty cool. First sketchy impressions seem that you dont need another £140 3870, but only a 512mb+ 3850!!

Thing is those are different cores, whereas 3870x2 3870 and 3850 all use the same one. Just different clocks.

Thing is even though they are the same core they are different, stuff locked etc so they'd have to disable that, whereas on ATI cards they decided to go with lower clocks rather than just lock the hardware.

Guess they thought it out a bit better lol.

My bro has a 3850 so ill wait for benches and see how well that goes with a 3870 in xfire.. if it does extremely well then I may just have to do a little switching...
