Afternoon all, I am going to be using 1.264 volts for a 24/7 overclock on my 3770k

How safe is this ?

Here is a screenie -

your temps are looking awesome m8 =) I've seen 3770s hit their thermal threshold at lower volts than that so it looks like you were a bit lucky at the silicon lottery =)

1.26v is completely fine, anything under 1.4 is really

Bit interested in your Intel Burn Test results though, with 512mb ram I only take about 35 seconds for 10 runs and get about 95Gflops per one

Its a new build and I havent got my ram yet, there is only 1 stick of 2gb on the board. With windows running im left with only around 800mb of memory free..

1.264 is the lowest I can get, just done another run and it failed.. Looks like im going to have to bump it up a little more..

Also just noticed that my VID is 1.296, does this mean at stock speeds the processor runs at 1.296 ?

What cooling are you running btw?

H60 for the moment...

Trying to get my head around vdroop controll also.. does anybody know if I need to use this whilst on a fixed vcore ? at the moment I have it on 100% and my volts are dropping to 1.272 from 1.28 under load

I took of the IHS (delidded) and cleaned of the crappy thermal paste and glue and the put some gelid gc-extreme on it... I should have done some testing before I delidded to see the difference..

Hmm... for a rough reference it's 0.096v higher and ~20C lower than my default 3770k and H100i (see here for other parts) will reach when running Prime95, which takes all cores to 100% (or so says windows task manager) and inspires Intel's default boost thing to 3.9GHz. And your MSI CC doesn't have the weird yellow colour and pattern on it either; it looks so clean like that. :p

By default it will linger about .9280 with the odd spike to around 1.0 while I'm just browsing, and hover around 40C most days, but now it's sitting at around 30C. I might've agitated the cooler with those tests, or because of a slightly cooler day in general. Been high 20's up to low 30's lately, currently ~23C inside.

I think my low temps are coming from me only having one stick of ram on the board at the moment, well see what happens when I get my final sticks..

I only have one as well right now (got 2, 1 is demented so I took it out), but I also haven't been controlling the cooling either and I don't know what that gets up to when left to its own devices. In the past I've found things like that are reluctant to try very hard without encouragement.
