£376.12 X1900xt 512mb Ddr3

Thats the going rate for a 512MB card though.

@ Baz - I know what you mean but we are 4 weeks away at least (March 11th at Cebit at the very latest) :(

HAving just gotten me a sli32 MOBO I am in the unenviable position of being in Nvidias pocket............ but I am sure it'll be worth it (for the scores not for the purchase lol).

Mav

I'm trying to decide if that is an allowed link. I think we will allow it as Phil no longer sells graphics cards, but if it's removed by Phil then it's removed.

I have to say, I'm not going back to ATI again now. After the X800 series which were great cards, they have gone seriously pear shaped and lost the plot a little in my opinion.

I'm sure ATi will bring it back - this just seems to be how things go on in the graphics world 8)

Which mobo is it you have now Mav?

Becuase we live in RIP OFF Britain! They think they can take us for a ride! Which they are!

The Leadtek 512MB GTX is £475 per card!

17.5% value added tax. Don't forget some American states pay similar sales taxes.

Not to mention any additional customs fees that you have to pay on top for importing.

£290 without taxes can easily become £370 or £400 once all the fees and shipping have been accounted for.

Europe is really inefficient too in general.

shoot me now.. i paid £400 for something that is now 100% obsolete.. shoot me please :(

:(

when did you spend the £400? I spent £2300 on my first computer over a decade ago and that's obsolete :P

As soon as you buy anything it's obsolete really, it's just a matter of being obsolete in two days or 4months with the GPU industry now.

I guess you'll be changing your sig....then again, what on earth possessed you to get a x1800XT when it is still bested by the nvidias?

He is an ATI fanboy :p

As Chris said - unfortunately always going to happen especially where graphics cards are concerned.

£2300 bah, I spent nearly £4k on my last system which used an ATI card :$ That was the biggest mistake I ever made, I shudda stuf with nVidia cos I love the cards.

Already spent over £2.5k on Kool160 and I still got stuff to get after the graphics. Oh well the money we spent on systems is just silly these days but at least we get satisfaction from it 8)

We do? I gotta be doing something wrong then :( LOL

Nah, just kidding. I cant complain much. :) As long as we keep in mind that our high-end systems are only gonna last a few months generally, we`ll be ok.
