Had some Pi. Kuro LCD TVs demoed, to be honest, the black level thing is a great idea, but it was found to effect lighting of areas where u/the director would expect a level to be.
For example, during post production, u alter the recorded digital process to put over the effects u were hoping to achieve during filming. Normally this is done on a 24"+ computer style monitor. Viewing the end result on kuro technology kinda moved the goal posts.
Perhaps editing with that in mind would be better, but ur then moving away from the monitor screens that basically just show u what u recorded with no technology involved.
The 3 stage forwarding of frames to the screen is not something new either. It's what pc graphics cards tend to do, but it's nice to see something like this employed - I thought they already had. Being based on 24 fps isn't exactly ideal for uk use either, but that could be massaged I would think.
Again with all this, it's the molesting of the filming process. One company introducing their method of nr or cinematic molestation of the digital image they've blown up.
Plasma eww.
