2x8GB high-speed RAM

Heya guys!

So I'm planning to do a new build soon and I wouldn't be me if I wasn't looking for awfully specific hardware to go in it. Long story short; It's going to be an ITX build, so the motherboard will have 2 RAM slots, I want 16GB of RAM at 2133MHz or higher and the colour scheme is black and white.

It'd be awesome if the heatspreaders were white, but this is not a necessity, black is alright too. It's okay if it's a white/black heatspreader with a coloured sticker on it, cause I can just design my own sticker and put that over it. As long as it is not the heatspreader itself that is coloured cause I don't want to have to take them off to mod and accidentally pull a chip off the module.

So far I've been looking at the Kingston HyperX Beast series, but they do have a green PCB which kinda puts me off. Same for the Mushkin Blackline ones. I've also had a look at the grey Vengeance Pro, but I'm wondering how easy it is to take the top bit off the heatspreader so I could paint that white. The yellow sticker could probably easily be taken care of too.

The G.Skill Ripjaws X are all black with blue-ish stickers, so they would be a nice option, however they're not too cheap:

Patriot Viper RAM looks dead sexy, but they're only really available at one shop here in the Netherlands and they ask a stupidly high price of €220+ where all the other RAM I've mentioned so far tops out at €155 which is also around my max budget.

On Caseking.de I also spotted the GeIL EVO Potenza White Series DDR3-2400, CL11 - 16 GB Kit and Team Group Xtreem Series White, DDR3-2400, CL10 - 16 GB Kit but I'm not too sure about the brands. Anyone has experience with them? They do look pretty sexy:

TL;DR
Looking for a 2x8GB kit of 2133MHz or higher with a budget of €150,-
No coloured heatspreaders, just black or white. Sticker mods will be okay, heatspreader mods are a no-no. Vengeance Pro mod will be considered. Height doesn't matter as I'll be getting an H60 2013 Edition.

Your input guys?

Thanks in advance :)

It's easy, Tom did it in a video of something by accident once and pulled it off and put it back about 3 times. Might have been the 750D review.

Thanks for the info mate!

Quickly skipped through the 750D video but couldn't find it. Has anyone got any idea where I can find this?

Yeah I checked after and it's not the one. I thought for some reason there were 3 ascending rigs like the 350/750/900D anyway it's in something where a test rig is mocked up. I just saw on TastyPC too that she had put her red tops on the silver modules (personal rig video 2) so it's definitely easily possible, if i bump into Toms video i'll post it.

They are missing in the 760T review lol.

Seems easy enough then. €144,- for the 2133MHz 2x8Gb kit, black PCB and moddable to a black & white heatspreader. CL11, but at 1.5Volts and available at the shop I'm getting most other parts from too.

Think we may have found a winner. Thanks for the info mate :)

Shame that the 2400MHz Vengeance kit they have is in gold. Okay, I could mod that too but they don't seem to be available until hell freezes over.

Thanks mate, will consider these as well. Would have to import them from Germany though, and they'd be more expensive than the Corsairs :(

The other shop where I'm buying the stuff from has the 2400MHz Gold version available in 2-3 work days. Done a quick PhotoSoup job and I think I'm pretty satisfied with this so far. Might just leave the black and mesh out of the sticker though. :)

Here comes the gold again :D

Nice, remember that each colour kit has different coloured stickers too. So getting the silver kit might make a smarter job if you can't make stickers for whatever reason, I personally think the grey sticker would look fine with any colour scheme and unless you've got a badass sticker maker i'd be tempted to use them. But if you have got a badass sticker maker then go nuts I guess!

Won't be visible though. I'll be hiding all my gold ;)

Thanks,

That's good advice however I'd have to fix the yellow Vengeance logo anyway, cause that'd annoy the shit out of me. Besides, not getting the 2400MHz kit would be a bit dumb as it's only €2 more which really isn't a lot on a price of €144,-

Going to have to mod both anyway. Unless anyone has a better idea for the sticker? Then I'd love to hear it :D
