2017's Star Wars Battlefront will feature a single-player campaign

I wonder if this will be the usual EA garbage I got a refund after just 10 mins of play on the first release of this game

Really? Again?... Everyone I knew that games and their dog, didn't like the older Star Wars: Battlefront game and stopped playing it almost instantly.

Ill be honest, I didn't buy Battlefront until it was £10 on sale simply due to its lack of true single-player modes. As a Star Wars fan I actually enjoyed the attention to detail and it's fun to hop into a Stormtroopers helmet on occasion but as an overall package it was fairly mediocre. If I wasn't a big Star Wars fan I wouldn't bother playing it at all.

Here's hoping EA pulls through with this new one and makes the game we were all hoping Battlefront 3 would be. *positive attitude for the day*

Yup right after EA had taken £50 from them.

I paid £20 for it and I was annoyed.

EA need to learn that there is more to a game than realistic sounds and graphics, though don't get me wrong they are good at that, But playability and netcode quality are just as if not more important, and lets face it when are EA going to realize that the Frostbyte engine is total pants as far as that goes

In the last Star Wars Battlefront they nailed the look and feel of the Star Wars universe but the game was dull to the extreme and felt rushed, I feel this sequel will be so much better though and am quite looking forward to it.

The game was a work of art though, nothing has been created yet with such accuracy to the film's sound and visuals. I get that there wasn't much game under it, but now they've done the tech bit at least the second one can have some actual content.

It's still one of the best looking FPS's ever made, and easily the best (edit) Looking Star Wars game ever made. You can't really deny that.

Don't agree. Jedi Knight (the one based on Quake 2) and Jedi Academy were my faves.

I think Academy just about tops it for me. Brilliant game play, fantastic graphics with a good view (didn't suffer from DVS too much.. DVS = dodgy view syndrome) and had a good difficulty level that was fair but not too hard and was rewarding to complete.

I meant best looking, sorry, mistyped. Not best (not by any stretch). but best looking is a sure win

Ah yeah it's gorgeous I will agree on that :) looked proper realistic running around in the snow :)

I will pay if the single player campaign is worth it. That was what I wanted really (yeah, I knew there was no SP and MP bored me).

So it will be multiplayer maps with some story thrown in, Just like Battlefield 1.

Wish we could have a dedicated single player Star Wars game, Bored of all this multiplayer garbage.

Same - if I want to hear twelvies swearing at me I'll go through the local mall. I'm glad the single player is going to be back. Just hope it's not just an afterthought.

Adding single player campaigns to multi player games is kinda stupid IMO. Just give us a Skyrim sized single player game set in the Star Wars universe (a statement that may cause many nerds to cream their panties). :D They won't be hooking us single player only types into this type of game by adding one silly short campaign. No bueno. Keep the single player stuff in a completely separate title.

I wouldn't be opposed to them charging say $40 for a single player only game set in a massive star wars world and then charge say $20 for a multiplayer mode for those that want it. Pay for it if you want it.

Really anything for a star wars single player game that is dedicated to a great experience with it in mind first before multiplayer.

Yup, that's what we all want isn't it? Who wouldn't be up for a Fallout 4 sized / style Star Wars game? Shut up and take my money!!

Just make re-make X-Wing / Tie Fighter / X-Wing Alliance on a new engine and I'd be set for years.

(I know it's kind of self-promo, but Elite does play an awful lot like X-Wing in terms of flight and combat)

So much yes. I've been playing on GOG and yes the graphics are rubbish but awesome fun.
