Hallo all,

Just to pick your brains, I have an annoying fan issue. On the side intake of my HAF-X, I have a Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm Red LED. Every now and then it rubs against the dust filter and makes a rather annoying clicky sound.

Would four washers do the trick? If so, what sort am I looking for? Never shopped for washers before. Eeeeek.

Cheers peeps

Cheers demonking :)

i put on 2 rubber M4 washers on each screw and it has given the fan the clearence needed from the dust filter.

Result wooooop!

Bahhhhh!!! Started to make that gawd awful click noise again. May need a metal washer on each screw, followed by the rubber washers. It's enough to drive an insane personage crazy.

I have the same setup, I used 2x1 mm thick nylon washers for each screw and nothings out of the ordinary. Have you tried spinning the fan to see if something is striking the blade?

I think I have managed to solve the problem. I did put on M5 metal washers on all four screws along with a few m4 rubber washers. Thinking that would solve the issue, the dust filter bowed in the middle. This resulted in the blades or the center of the fan touching the filter.

I then had the proverbial light bulb. Out came the trusty sticky tape. Stick the edges of the filter to the side panel, hey prersto!!! A nice gap and no more clicky noises.

*does happy dance*
