£200 for new mobo advice please

I'd recommend either the Rampage Extreme or Foxconn BlackOps (GBP21 over your budget though) if you're looking for serious overclocking. Watch for a review of the BlackOps tomorrow!

Oh good, was wondering when that was coming..

I think the rampage formula X48 was the best suggestion :)

Wait a second...

There isn't a point in spending £200 on a motherboard, when there are motherboards that are £50 or more less that do nearly as well, if not as well.

A DFI X48-T2R will be fine, and overclock well, if you need Crossfire. Otherwise, go P45, with an Asus P5Q Pro or something similar.

£200 on a mobo is a serious mis-allocation of funds imo. There isn`t one (a home desktop) out there worth over £150, and yes there are under £100 mobos that are old that can match the most expensive ones.

What I find with expensive boards is u pay a fair bit for the packaging. The Foxconn is a classic. Nice board but meh. What ASUS tend to do is add firewire to a board, or put a cooler where there should have in the first place, call it something different, then add it to the lineup.
