I was having far too much trouble getting all four (4x512mb) of my OCZ Platinum 3200 Rev2 working, so I just bought the Crucual Ballistix PC4000 2GB kit :)

So far Im stable at the default 250/1T/3-4-4-8 2.8v but im hoping to start tweaking those timings and FSB :)

PS.. if you're gonna get the kit... buy it from Crucual direct, its £30 cheaper than on OcUK. :)

Results to follow :)

Bought some of this stuff yet to try it though. But £250 is damn good for 2GB and far cry game :)

NICE!!

VERY NICE!!

Thanks for the information - this is a great experiment into what could be the next thing we all need (after dual core, 32pipe cards, Physics chips LOL)

I have to admit I am torn between this and the corsair 1GB.

Things I would like to know is max voltage (any cooling on the ram itself) and how tight it can go at 250 (250 is good for me) - and finally how high will it clock at loosest timings.

Cheers

Mav

PS: Does having larger amounts of ram (1x1GB) give you more bandwidth than say 2x512MB.

right boys....

Im sooo much happier with this Ballistix than the 4x512 OCZ Plat 3200 Rev2.

Default timings are:

3-4-4-8 yet they actually default to 3-3-3-8.

Im currently at 270fsb, 3-3-3-8, 1T, 2.9v Done two laps of Memtest... gonna go for max fsb first. The try and go for the typical Ballistix timmings of -2-2- if I can.

Someone of XS has these over 300fsb.. dunno what timings but Im a happy bunny.

Anyone wanna see particular benches? Obviously I have alot of work to do on them.. but i can give you initial impressions.

Mate if you can bench 32m superpi at 250 2.5-3-3-6 then that'll be good enough for me.

If you can do 275 @ 3-3-3-6 then that would not be a bad thing either

Any FSB higher at those timings would be brilliant.

Give some Sandra results too to cive us an idea of the bandwidth you can produce.

Hey guys...

I have 4x512 of OCZ Plat 3200 Rev2 and now 2x1gb of Crucial Ballistix PC4000.

The 4x512 were a little difficult to get running properly so for me I much prefer the 2x1gb kit :)

currently running at 260x11=2860mhz, 2.8vDimm, 3-3-3-8, 1T, everything set to defualt atm.

I still need to work out all the mem settings as Im sure this stuff is capable of plenty more :) (if I knew what settings to use).

Mate - I feel sure if you went on the crucial forums then some there could help also try DFI forums there's a few posts around there.

Probaly best to use 618-3 or 510-3 BIOS and leave everything except the 3-3-3-8 setting at auto.

I'd love to see how high you can go with 2.5-3-3-7 or even 2.5-3-3-6.

I been looking at some corsair sticks that do 2-3-3-6 @ 200, just wandering if they are the same chips used on the ballistix?

Nice scores so far.

I feel that 2.9v is required (with some fan cooling the ram) and you cold be looking at some sweeeeeeet results.

Are you burning htis ram in or just seeing how high it goes?

Cheers
