2 upgrade options

NeverBackDown

AMD Enthusiast
Hey everyone i have a sort of dilemma. I can buy a new monitor such as the AcerH236HLbid for 169$(~111pounds) which would have to be bought very soon as it is on sale. It is an ips 1080p monitor with a 5ms repsonse time and etc.

My other option would be to save my money for watercooling(running stock heatsink:() which would take a a long time(only 17 and jobs are not quite available here in U.S so i'm not working), which with the parts i want should come out at around 270$-300$ or 177pounds-196pounds. I should also mention I am running a Sony 32" tv and I can give the model # if interested.

I can also just do nethier and don't bother upgrading and save my money, but that is hard for me as i only have those two parts left for my build to really save it is complete and I'm very anxious to do that asap. Just money restriants are holding me back.

What is everyones take on this? Help is appreciated:)

I would much rather perfer a custom loop then a AIO to be honest, though from the money perspective i can see why you would suggest that.

Well i do not know the exact numbers but from what I have seen compared to a pc monitor, it does not look as sharp and is slower(i have seen screen tearing quite a bit). So i would guess the ppi is low. Everyone says it looks fantastic but they are not tach savvy at all so i take their words lightly lol:)

I would go for the monitor upgrade because for 1080p 24 inch is probably the maxiumum you want to go with and the ips monitor will be nice and full on watercooling is expensive and don't really know if your case will support it

I know my case will support it, i have seen 38mm thick rad with 25mm fan fit after moving it slightly to the left. In the front i have unlimited room for a 240 80mm thick rad:)

Anyone else have a suggestion? I think i am leaning towards watercooling but still unsure.

I'd personally go with the monitor upgrade. Unless your PC is running a little high in temperature recently, watercooling is always something that can be done in the future. Whereas once this sale is gone, it's gone. And to be honest Im surprised that a 1080p IPS monitor would be on sale for as cheap as that, so I'd definitely go with the monitor.

No problem at all brotha'. Oh sweet, if I were you, If you are deciding to go with the monitor, I would place the order in now, because you don't want to wait too long and find out the sales off, and in the mean time place a couple ads on Craigslist, local newspaper, shop windows, ask friends, etc. Or perhaps even the Buy/Trade section on these forums (If there is one, recently signed up to this particular PC Tech Forum myself).

Good luck man.
