as the title says I have two issues

while playing Syndicate and other games it suddenly crashes to desktop and a memory problem message appears.

I have 4 memories ddr2 2gb each. I have checked it with memtest many times trying to figure out if the memories or the slots or anything else. tested those memories on another board (other pc) and was OK . I run memtest for an other pair of rams on my board and errors appear again in memtest after 2-3 passes. all the errors appear at the 7th test (random number sequence). no O/C for this mobo. checked the voltages and saw that it's automatically set a little higher than it should. set it to manual and reduced to 1.8V. that seemed to work but not for long. errors appear again after a little while.

I also noticed that NB gets pretty hot . could that overheating cause the memories issue?

the other problem is that the cpu firsts core temperature is stuck at 49 celcious . I know that the 49 is not true temp and it only goes up to 50-51 when I stress the cpu.

could that issues be related one to the other?

It could just simply be the end of your RAMs life. I do recall the Socket 775 era had hot north bridges so this is normal.

i wouldnt worry about the single core temp, i have one cpu that has a core running at 4.9 million degrees...

it wont be far off the others if at all

DDR2???...first thing i would suggest is get up to date Lol...DDR3 has been available for a log time now

Judging by that, if the RAM works fine in other motherboards with no issues, voltages being autoset to high and NB heat issues, i'd say the problem may be heat related, but i would also immediatly come to the conclusion that its a motherboard issue, how old is yout mobo? Maybe it's reaching the end of life, or maybe its just become faulty, could be due to heat or just wear and tear.

As for upgrading to DDR2, im not entirely sure that is necessary, after all it's what works best with your mobo that you go for, not because DDR3 is better.

CPU core temp i wouldn't worry too much about, i always have one core hotter than the other, could be due to increased load on that specific core, its doing more than the others, or just uneven thermal paste, either way its nothing to worry about mate.

Hope this is slightly helpful

it's about 4 years old and used a lot. I suppose it's a heating problem cause the rams malfunction appears only after being in extended use (playing demandful games , running memtest) for some time . I'll buy a new one asa I have the budget for that.

I'm not worried about the cpu core temp , I just wonder if that stuck sensor has something to do with the rams issue.

I removed the NB heat-sink cause it wasn't sitting very well , I'll apply some fresh tim (asa I recieve it) , add a 8mm fan on it and see how it goes.

thank u all for the responses , much appreciated fellas
