not a problem right?

well it is.. even if i create a custom one in nvidia control panel some games dont allow me to choose this resolution form their menus or allow me to change em in the config files...

crysis and bfbc2 do this forcinbg me to play in 1280x768

my monitor (gateway FPD1975W) doesnt have any drivers online

ive even tried installing another 1440x900 monitor's driver and doesnt work

help!

In crysis you can edit the .cfg file and where it says

r_height=

r_width=

r_fullscreen=

change it to

r_height=1440

r_width=900

r_fullscreen=1

I had to do this my self on my HD TV because for some reason it wouldn't do 1080p only 720p.

it is not in the spec'd resolutions list for games to be marketed

i, for instance, do not have to put it in my resolutions options

My mate has a similar problem with his TV, its 1080P but he can only get 1680 x 1050 through the VGA and DVI but through the HDMI he gest 1080P but is realy fuzzy and poor picture. and he cant chnage the name of the input on the TV which usualy works for a fuzzy picture.

i do this but it looks too big (im 100% sure my monitors native res is 1440x900)

from what ive read the 1440x900 option is suppose to already be in crysis

i think its because i have to create a custom resolution in nvidia control panel and maybe the Advanced timings are wrong idk

its the same in bfbc2 if i put it as 1440x900 in the settings.ini file my monitor goes to a frequency out of ranged screen

i think it sends it a frequency too high or low

and in crysis and mass effect sometimes the screen goes black for a second or 2 like its on standby but comes right back

i think if i switch to dvi itll be fine but i have no dvi cable lol

think that black screen was just a bad OC on Gigabytes part i lowered the clock by 15Mhz and played 40 mins of crysis and nothin usually it blackscreens in like 15-20

Said it hundred times! Buy standard resolution! Buy standard resolution! If not you will experience trouble!

1920x1080 should be the obvious choice for 95 percent of all people.

ehh ive had this monitor for 4 years and it has served me well

ok reinstalled drivers cause nvidia control panel wasnt working and redid the custom resolution with CVT standard timings (yea idk what it is either i just know this monitor is CVT standard lol)

and now bfbc2 works in 1440x900

but crysis still doesnt menu is halfway out the screen

EDIT: BFBC2 only works in 1440x900 when i have dxversion set to 9
