1055t

So tomorrow I plan on picking up an AMD 1055t and plan on OCing the crap out of it. hopefully i can hit 4.5ghz.

What clocks has anyone here gotten with there 1055t and what volts?

Also is there a way to disable the turbo boost? i keep finding that it cant be disabled?

it all depends on the mobo and BIOS.

i have never got my 1055t to 4.5GHz

, the multipliers on non-blacks editions are topped at x14

i can get:

4.18GHz... stable for gaming (@1.5v, max 52C)

3.92GHz... stable for folding (extreme stress

)(@1.46v, max 45C)

(all with a coolit vantage push/pull (akasa apaches super-silent) on extreme settings)

it wont even post - the BIOS 'OCing safety' kicks in and it fails.

4.2GHz is stable for gaming

but i use 3.9GHz for folding/extreme-rendering

the difference is only noticed when doing HUGE CPU loads over a prolonged time

I've only managed to get 3.8 GHz on my CPU, I have no idea how you'll hit 4.5GHz unless you're going subzero and with a really good motherboard.

well i have a really good mobo (crosshair formula iii) its old but freaken amazing. i think i will wait and get the 1090t.

you will need to do alot of fiddling to get any from a 1055t on the CFIII, AFAKI the 790FX NB clock doesn't go that high. the HT speed gets a bit unstable over 250

I will be able to get it. I got my friends phenom 970 to 4.4ghz on my board.

(to bad he wouldn't let me keep it) - perhaps i should steel it

My mobo is a tough SOB! My HT right now is 2207.7 and i have hit 2400.5 pretty easily with it. (Stable to).

as i said the.... 970 and the 1090t (and any other black edition) will be okay on the CF3, cos their mulipliers are not locked.

the 1055t is maxxed at x14

oh i know, i was talking about my boards OC and stability. using my friends 970 as an example.

the ROG mobos are very good. they just had to spoil the C4F with the noisy fan - lol

IMHO the 3 is better than the 4

Get a 1075t if you can't wait any longer. As said, no way will you get 4.5Ghz with a locked multiplier unless you have the greatest 1055t ever made
