1055T better doing it alone

Calculation seems alright with this numbers

Hmmm, i have been plying around with gf`s 1090t,and i found out oc 3.85-3.9> and higher volts wont give better ppd.

But with 14x multi, there isnt manny options other than bclk.Sorry to bother you m8

the mobo needs an excellent FSB and NB to get good stable clocks on all the amd hexacores.

even though i have my cpu @ 4ghz, i have tried endously to get my ram (dominator GT 2000) to 2000, but can only get it to 1733

i am still learning the overclocking jedi tricks, and i will be a initiate padawan for a long time, no doubt.

It will come to you in stages. Its a learning process.3/4 year ago i was also new to this oc-thing,and ended up with two rigs folding
biggrin.gif

And the mobo of yours,is one of the finest amd-mobos to oc.

Think of it,Tom had a 1090t at 4.5ghz on this mobo
smile.gif

4.5ghz, i know.
tongue.gif
it was the deciding fact that made my buy this board. (nice job there, tom - go and get your commission).... i even bought the same memory as in the review for it too.

i couldnt' wait for eons for the big bang conqueror - and so opted for the next best amd mobo, that i could get my hands on.

IMO, it's much better than the CIVE.

i still an going to go bulldozer though, when then are unleashed upon us. but, i won't go down the AM3+ route... i will now hold out until the AM4 boards arrive on the doorstep, and go the whole hog
smile.gif

btw: as the numbers suggest, a 1090 is 35 greater than 1055, hence a maximum overclock should be ~0.35GHz less
tongue.gif
which i have
wink.gif

so with that in mind - i don't think i can push it any further for stability. i have got it to 4.3ghz and it lived for about 3mins in prime, until BSOD

my coolit vantage is on extreme, but i may buy a D14 just to see if there is any difference in temps, and what all the fuss is about
smile.gif

Right thing to do i think.A friend of mine has a 790gx am2+ mobo and is struggling to get some performance of the 965be he bought .

There should also be ddr4 included on bulldozer

I started with amd, made a crossover to intel for performance folding.

Maybe am4 is good folder, and i will cross back then

my PPD/MHz is 3.42

average PPD = 13516.8

is this what you are after?

Ya thanks, so thats @ 3.4ghz so maybe a stock chip will see around 10k or alittle more then.

Up til now ive been basing what ppd each chip might get from here...

http://www.w7forums.com/estimated-ppd-smp2-client-t7787.html

BUT
Remember this is not completely accurate but will give a close estimate of what to expect when setup correctly using 100% CPU usage

AMD Phenom II X6 1035T = 10348ppd

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T = 15138ppd

i do not know where you got 3.4 from!!!

as you can see from the screenshots the PPD was dropping as i was using the PC to post this.
laugh.gif

I read one of your posts wrong

If thats the PPD with an X6 @ 3.8ghz (good but was expecting more) then a stock X6 in real world ppd might be abit crap, think my money would be better spent on getting an old I7 or new Sandybridge
unsure.gif

if my folding rig is untouched, then my PPD is 13500+

@4GHZ it is 13900+

Have tried both i7-950 @ 4.2 and 1090T @ 4.0. With normal wu`s like wu6069,there isnt much gain in i7-950,both at 11.5-16.5k ppd,depending on wu.

Only gain is big-adv on i7 with 20-38k ppd.
