Lol nice steal! I think i am going to do the same now... :D

I've got the same card and it's great. I got it new for £200, installed the Accelero for 7970 (mostly to be able to clock and remain silent, the stock cooler is pure noise when it starts kicking in) and it clocks really well. I'm running 24/7 at 1150/1500 with 1,225Vddc, GPU temp won't go above 55 degrees and VRMs in the 70s. Memory won't go any higher than that without artifacts. It has a terrible ASIC quality as GPU-z reports it, 48.5%, so as I read somewhere, I doubt the ASIC has anything to do with the end result when overclocking.

PS3 for that was a great deal, indeed! Congrats!

Nice to hear man, If you want a uefi gop bios for it then give me a shout ... And yes that stock cooler has got to win the award for the worst ever stock cooler created :)

Uhmm, I'm on 015.022.000.001.001496 at the moment (not its original, but ATI's reference version with boost). What are the features of that bios you mention? I've read Windows 8 fast boot, but isn't that a motherboard feature?

Cheers!

Its a motherboard feature that requires uefi feature on gpu ...

Where did you get the bios from ?

What voltages do you have - vmddc vddc / what the clock speed ?

Can you upload it somewhere ?

I see, I'm not sure my current bios supports it, any way I can test it?

I have set 1.281vddc/1.550vmddc in Trixx, around the 1.225 real volts during load (0.050vdroop). Speeds as I mentioned, 1150/1500. These are 24/7 stable, for benching it needs way less voltage.

I got it from TechPowerUp, this one:
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/124572/ati-hd7950-3072-120706.html

There are plenty of bios there you can flash this card with, including a few HD7970 Ghz. There's a Sapphire that defaults to 1050/1500 and 1.225vddc, just a bit over what the card needs for those speeds, so it's also a great choice.

You can open it up the bios with a hex editor to check, or you can just try to boot with uefi windows 8 features in your bios ..

I have been asking sapphire if there gonna bring out a bios with uefi gop added and they keep telling me to fuck off basically .... lol

Hi Sapphire,

Well thats a shame because all other vendors are rolling out bios updates to support this new feature ..

I would of thought that Sapphire being one of the leading vendors would be able to do this for there customers...

Also Do you have a boost bios available or this card ?

Regards,

Mat

Dear Sir:
Currently, HD7xxx series does not support UEFI. If we release new BIOS, we will upload to Sapphire download website( http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/downloads/download_index.aspx?psn=0006&lid=1 ).
