1.42V pushing it?

Hey, I got extreme performance but noisy fans strapped to my Corsair A70 CPU cooler. I have my CPU at 1.4V (Which is the max safe limit by intel) and get a max of 54 degrees. Is it safe to go to 1.42 or is that pushing it a bit?

Thanks

I'd say go for it as long as the temps are not too high and judging by the max of 54 degrees you're getting currently I think you could give it a go. Report back with the temps you get

. Personally I don't like going over 65 C. I'm not exactly sure what the recommended maximum 24/7 temperatures are, but I'm guessing there under 75 - 80 C.

With the CPU at 1.42V (Instead of 1.40V) I can only get an extra 20Mhz and its not even stable, I tried putting the VTT at 1.35 and it still isn't stable so I backed right down on the VTT and is now running at 1.4V & 1.28V VTT. Has my CPU reached its limit?

Yeh, it probably has. I bet you'd have to push crazy volts through it to get any higher unfortunately. I would be happy with what you have currently.

i thought intel said it was 1.45v as the vmax you should run?

i wouldnt be worried at 1.42 vcore me mate but if you are just drop it a touch.

I'm sure 760's are safe for 1.42v i've seen a few people with 1.4v for around 4ghz anyway.
