Microsoft's revealing "what's next for Windows" this month

Now with even tighter integration to MS online services!

Ugh

Don't forget the "unlock a better economy for developers and creators within Windows itself". Given Microsoft's past, this is pretty ominous sounding...

What I would like to see is more compartmentalizing and security/privacy improvements. As for the former it will help reduce overall complexity and should streaminline some development work, thereby making updates smaller and less buggy, which means more frequent polished updates. The latter just is something that needs to be done regardless. Users are entitled to their own privacy and data and how it should be managed.

Almost forgot, I would like for them to make windows update process more laid back. Not forcing updates and in the middle of working or whenever their algorithm feels like it.

I am...actually interested?

I know it's probably just a big update for Windows 10 (Sun Valley might be bigger than we think), with a potential of dropping the 10 out of the name. But a part of me wants it to be a new Windows altogether.

Not knowing and not being sure is why I'm interested.

I don't really mind a new windows, but it would be nice if I could pay whatever they are asking and just add a key and then let windows update do the task, cause I have little desire to move if I'll need to do a full reinstall if i'm being honest.

The other thing is i dont feel it's worth moving even if it has DX13 or something cause my card doesn't support it so i don't need it atm.

They take ages to utilise the features in games at times.

I doubt something like Dx13 is coming any time soon, Dx12 is designed to be rather long lasting. There just will be new feature sets.

If DX13 was coming, they would not have made DirectX 12 Ultimate.

TBH, I have no idea what MS has planned, and with my wedding being the following day, I don't care that much either.
