The last time we had a big monitor break through was 1440P 144Hz and I remember all the problems I had with the first 1440P 144Hz panels quite well, I'll stick to Ultrawide 120Hz for at least 2+ years yet until all the manufacturing issues are ironed out and price starts to come down.

Ouch, I thought the bigger versions would be that price lol.

Think I'll just go for the ASUS 34" 3440 x 1440.

Probably won't be much cheaper, I'd wait at least 6 months for the initial buggy batches to be shifted.

They surely aren't expecting to move these in high volumes, 4k 6oFPS isn't even really do-able yet without some serious horsepower, so, were saying what, $3500 for 4k 144hz (wont even hit 144hz) with 2x 1080ti..

Acer and Asus are releasing these now knowing no one can REALLY power them to their fullest but they will both be first to market and can then say "Look what we have".

well doing that I suppose they can spend more time on QA. Their last swift QA was horrendous.

With such low volumes expected to be shifted, then there could be more focus on quality. Imagine the PR disaster when you drop this money on something you need to send back because of issues.
