EagleTree Capital is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Corsair

I don't know, but I don't like the smell of this. I've seen a few premier companies get taken over and then everything was cheap tat with the badge on. I hope they maintain the higher quality parts of Corsair that have made it as extreme as it is.

Yea this concerns me

EagleTree Capital is a private equity firm.

This is bad news because all they want to do is make as much money for the share holders as possible in as shorter time as possible.

We don't know that production is going to slow down or lessen in quality because of a takeover. I think maybe people are being a little hasty to right Corsair off.

Yes, but Corsair is already partially owned by a different equity company.

This sucks bad! I used to be huge into car audio and the same thing happened there. Small, quality companies got bought out by bigger ones, then stripped down into junk with products far below what the original ones were. Precision Power, Orion, MB Quart, Polk Audio and several others are merely average products now after being bought out by some giant company when they used to be elite.

I really hate to see the same thing happen here in the PC world especially to what is essentially my favorite band.

I can see Corsair being ripped apart and milked, It's going to be ugly but then again the fatcat sicko shareholders at the top need their moneyz.

google corsair and you'll see theres alot of companies named thusly. I'm wondering if its a different corsair as one is another equity firm.

Any idea on when they became involved? I would love to know if it coincided with Corsair making flimsy cheap products alongside the good ones.
