Now that tool makes me want to think about de-liding my 4790K and trying a better thermal compound. I have always been scared of both the vise and the razor blade methods. Can't wait for availability in the US

Not sure maybe it's only a European product for retail.
 
This is great, I still have a 2600K, but it gives me hope that I can actually get better performance at the same temperatures whenever I upgrade - be it a 8700K or whatever AMD has at the time.

I assume no one knows if it will be called a 8700K or so though yet?...
 
I wouldn't think so, I'd guess Lahn is continuing with Intel's current naming scheme
Yeah, I just assume Intel will keep the same naming scheme, why question what they've done the past couple of generations, it seems to work for them - and is nice for the consumer when they stick to naming conventions :)
