PowerColor Introduces X1650 XT In PCI-E And AGP

PowerColor has released yet another Vista ready gfx card - the X1650 XT. It's also refreshing to see the continued support for the AGP platform. Quite an awesome looking card card for not a lot of money; care to comment?

Linkage to the press release

Great looking card for the price, bet it performs well too. Definately refreshing to see another AGP card on the scene as it sure isn't a dead platform by any means.

Good to see some cards still beign banged out for the AGP platform. It seems to have been forgotten by most companies very quickly.

Quite disappointing to see such an abandonment too. The majority of computer users out their (non enthusiasts like ourselves) that do basic upgrades to their machines when the time comes still use AGP. There is a huge gap in the market for really good AGP cards right now, it would be nice to see a few higher ranged cards hit the AGP platform.

Definately, tho i fear that with the release of PCIE2 AGP will fall off the map completely.

When is PCIE2 slated for public release, Q2 07?

Yes sir, 100% backwards compatible. Same slot type, just increased bandwidth and bus speed.

Cool, sorry to kind of repeat my self does that mean that new cards work with the old bus and old cards work with the new bus?

New cards should work with the old bus, just not at full potential (if that given card actually requires the amount of bandwidth provided by the 2.0 spec).
