So i decided to share some pics of my build to the world ( because im very proud of her lol )

I originally built it to play Battlefield 3 and in preparation for GTA5 ( i know right !! ) when it came to the GPU mods i did a little messing around with overclocking them and wanted to lower the temps considerably but looked at the wallet and decided a custom loop was far to long a way in terms of saving up... so i decided to have a go at modding them, six months on and the temps are still lovely and everything seems to be fine ( touches wood ). Anyway, hope you all like her as much as i do.

Spec:

CPU: i7 - 3770k @ 4.6Ghz ( currently, had 4.9 out of her )
CPU COOLING: Corsair H100 with push/pull config ( 2 x SP120's & 2 x NZXT 140mm case fans )
BOARD: ASUS Maximus V Formula ThunderFx
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengaence 2133Mhz
GPU's: ASUS GTX670's
GPU Cooling: Modded H60's with push/pull Corsair SP120's

Hi mate welcome to the forums :) I always enjoy seeing what other people can do with the same case as me, and I think this looks pretty good overall :) I think the only constructive thing I'd add is that it would probably look a lot nicer with white lighting than red. Generally it looks best if you have your coloured accents (heatsinks, fan rings, cables, etc.) and then make them colours pop against the background colour by bringing them out with white lighting; using the same colour lighting as accents can drown out the colour you're trying to achieve. I see why you've modded a fan into the window to help keep your graphics cards cool but it's such a shame to break up the nice big window :(

Very nice switch build, an interesting way to cool the gpu's as well, don't see that often :)

I'd have personally matched the CPU cooler's tubing with the gpu's would have really tied it all together.

The side-panel fan is a bit of a let down but it doesn't look as bas as some others I've seen tbh so it's not that bad :P

I'd light this with some soft-warm-white LED strips to finish it off. Also get dem stickers off the case!! it looks great apart from that.

Interesting to see a Tau player, someone likes to pew pew ;)

Thanks guys, as for the white lighting i will definitely give that a go.. was not aware the white would bring out the detail more, but now you mention it i can see the logic. :)

It was a shame to break up the large window... I have yet to make/buy a primochill style rad grill to go on the outside. That said, i felt better about doing that, rather than leave the chips on the card un-cooled...so to speak.

Stickers? oww mayynnn, i like them, guess thats down to preference though haha :)

Thanks for taking time out to check the pics and give me feedback, i saw the new NZXT GPU bracket they announced yesterday... it wont fit my H60's on the GPU's but im quietly hoping Corsair will follow suit now and release one thats compatible with the more "square" blocks on closed loops :)

Cheers again guys !

P.S I don't play warhammer, i just have a large collection on display in my nerdy cabinet lol.

You're more of a painter/collector like myself then? (If you were a player you probably wouldn't have a lot of Tau, or you'd have a shedtonne of Tau lol :P)

Feel free to pop some more pics of em up, it's always nice to meet a fellow hobbyist(nerd).

Nice build! I agree with the others about how it could have been better, but it is all down to personal preference.

Also a shame you have a OCZ psu... hopefully it doesn't fail quickly:p

I know right, at the time i wanted a matching red PSU and didnt quite have enough to stretch to the Corsair 1200W i series.

Its something i plan to do, in fact its the next thing i'll do right before i swap out the original H100

Thanks for the comments though guys ! :)

Nice build! how did you mod those H60's?

With great difficulty bud, back when i decided to do them there were next to no GPU closed loop brackets around and only found the Arctic cooling one which didn't suit my build.

I don't want to post the forum which i read up on how to do it as its OC3D's competition i should imagine... (just type *insert brand here* GPU Modders club, into google)

I used double zip ties, which,... when i tightened them each time and looked flush with the GPU chip, i found were not when i put the cards in and ran valley.

I did a card at a time, which was a nightmare as i had to move the whole card and closed loop in/out of the machine each time i made adjustments. Reason i had to make so many was that despite the blocks looking spot on, i found the temp shot up above 100c as soon as i ran a benchmark... so i had to tighten them more and more on each corner ( so it had equal pressure ). More often than not, it resulted in them snapping. Eventually through trial and error it worked... my temps are now lovely.

However it took best part of 4-5 hours, seriously.

NZXT just recently launched a GPU/Closed loop bracket so check that out... as for me, it wont fit square blocks so im waiting ( with confidence ) until Corsair do one for theirs.

For me see, it gets the same temps as a custom loop would, for a fraction of the cost.

oh and, make sure you buy Vram heat sinks for all the memory chips and mosfets etc :)

Glad you like the mod, thanks :)
