Hi guys im trying to decide on which card to buy. Im trying to decide on best price/performance ratio. Here are the choices"

RX480 4gb = 235eur
GTX1060 3gb = 218eur
GTX970 4gb = 179eur

Which would be the best on price/performace? These are the only prices that i can get from my local store

You can't buy online? Might be able to find some good deals.
I'd get the RX480.
If you don't want AMD, then probably the 970. It's the slowest of the bunch, but if money is an issue you will definitely be more than ok.

yes can't get online those are the only options, so is the RX480 worth to pay 55 euros more than GTX970?

The 480 is the quickest card out of what you can purchase so if the fund will stretch to it then yes buy it

so rx480 would cost 31% more than gtx970, I wonder what would be the percentange in performance difference between these two cards?

tried to do some research considering my prices Performace per dollar i think would be the best with GTX970 am i correct?

From what I remember the 480 performs at about a 1070 so that should give you some indication

The RX 480 is actually quite a bit slower than a GTX 1070. Between 15% and 50% slower depending on the game:

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 43% Slower
GTAV: 43% Slower
Wither 3: 38% Slower
Fallout 4: 35% Slower

These are the games where it's much closer:

Overwatch: 18% Slower
CS:GO: 15% Slower
DOTA2: 16% Slower

The RX 480 is on average 5% faster than the GTX 1060 3GB but 2% slower than the GTX 1060 6GB.

So it's much more on par with those two. In my opinion I would get the RX 480 out of the three choices from the original post. I don't think the added cost of the GTX 1060 6GB warrants the 2% improvement in performance.

EDIT:// Actually scratch that, after looking at the performance differences between the GTX 970 and RX 480 I would instead get the GTX 970. They perform almost identically (RX 480 wins by 2% averaged) but the GTX 970 is significantly more affordable.

Yes but strickly speaking about performace per dollar the gtx970 would be the best choice am i correct?

You are correct yes. According to benchmarks the RX 480 is only 2% faster than the GTX 970 in real games (averaged) making the GTX 970 much better in the performance per dollar spent category.

The largest win for the RX 480 is only 14% in World of Warcraft of all games. Most games the difference is 2-3% either to the 970 or the RX 480 making them quite even in my opinion.

Thanks, Decided to buy GTX970 for 179eur :)
