Phone Upgrade next month advice!

So next month i get an upgrade on O2, i currently have an iPhone 3Gs, this is the only apple product i own. Normally i would just go with the 4S as my upgrade option, but have been hearing good things about the Samsung galaxy. I must admit the main selling points of an iPhone for me are the app store and iPod.

So my question is, can the galaxy do these things better and what else can it do!

Thanks!

I believe that the android os is far superior then ios tbh, it has a fantastic app market, hd video recording, much more customisable. And there is basically an app for everything. But this is my opinion I have bern using android for almost a year now and honestly love it! If I was you though I'd look at the htc sensation.

I've been there. Actually, I've had blackberrys, androids and now 2 iPhones. I will never go back to android.

Their OS isn't as smooth, phones aren't as responsive, and... while they can be rooted... it can't compare to what a jailbreak offers.

Perhaps a vanilla iOS is lame, but it runs well. Personally, I only buy an iPhone if it can be jailbroken. Nonetheless, the functionality and simplicity of the iOS is far superior for a mobile OS.

Go the Galaxy S II it will eat an iphone for breakfast Samsung make the chips and screen for the iphone so why not go for the real deal and you dont need poxy itunes to run it

While I agree that Samsung is a far superior brand in the technology world, their phones fall short. Also, with iOS 5, iTunes is no longer needed. I hate iTunes as well.

All in all, the iPhone 4 and 4S will "eat any other phone for breakfast lunch dinner desert and a midnight snack. Then itll poop it all out and eat it again!".

I have only used androids and my experience with them has been more than pleasant. I have the Galaxy S2 and would highly recommend it, but since you will never go back to Android I guess it's not an option for you.

Maybe I am being unreasonably biased... I just had such great expectations with android and they seemed to fall short. Then I got my iPhone and it was like a night and day performance difference.

The day I discovered jailbreaking and the features it offered was the day I became a iPhone fanboy. It's incredible what you can do... But don't get me confused with Apple fanboys. I hate macs, MacBooks and the like. I personally feel that the iPhone is the greatest device apple has made.

I done mind giving android another chance, and I won't insult people for choosing them. To each his own; however, for this particular case... I feel the iPhone will suit his needs. The simplicity (and technical aspects with jailbreaking), speed, and looks of the iPhone 4 are fantastic.

As you said: "To each his own"

well then its a choice between performance and open ability of the galaxy s 2 or the OS brand and the style of the iphone

Of course we will have to see, BUT based on the specs and what the iPhone 4 can already do... my assumption is justified and highly plausible.

Yes it is highly plausable and justified. I never have high expectations for anything until some reviews have come out

I like your style, sir. I wish my mentality was similar to yours... I just don't work that was. I'm rash, blunt and will argue my opinion to no end.

I apologize in advance for some of my arguments.
