MSI 1080TI Gaming X Boot problems

So I just built my desktop which included a 1700x, Asus Strix b450, the title graphics card, and and corsair rmx850 power supply. I got everything hooked together and while the power indication rgb for the Strix motherboard came on when I attempted to power on everything I simply received a slight electrical click and nothing happened. I already built my friends PC which only has the difference of having a 1500x as the process so I thought I would try it on his, exact same problem. His 1060 worked perfectly fine...do I have a bricked graphics card?

If your system worked fine with the other graphics card it sounds like your 1080 Ti is dead and should be RMA'd.

Were you able to try the 1080 Ti on your friends PC?

Yes and the EXACT same issue happened. THe motherboard is fine on his, cpu, everything. But once the 1080ti was fully installed and I tried to power it on...the entire system just makes an electrical click, the fan on the back slightly moved but then nothing would move or even power on. Like not even the cpu fan powers on.

RMA the card dude sounds like you have a DOA, not really sure if this will matter but you're not daisy chaining the power to the card are you as sometimes they don't like it, so just try using an individual 8pin and individual 6 pin together see if it boots that way if not RMA.

Originally I had it chained, that was the first thing I tried and still no avail. Though the 1080ti I have is two eight pins.

Dang...guess I should get in touch with MSI. >.< Im just worried since I got the card from Ebay. Not to mention the thing LOOKS flawless. The seller is getting me all the information to transfer warranty so here is hoping things work out.

Good luck dude BUT if MSI over there are anything like they are here you won't have any issues, I onsold a 980ti to a mate and it died and MSI here replaced it with a 1080ti and got it to him right before Christmas last year

Thank you my dude, and this dude seems like a great seller. He sells old items he gets from his local hardware stores going out of business and is pretty legit. I just happened to get the one of two lemons out of 14 he recently sold. xD
