build help

hullo. so i have a fairly old system now - i5 4960 - z97 asus board, gtx 970 etc etc.

ive noticed my GPU is runninga bit hot lately and ive found that games are starting to stutter and im, also having screen locks. this is down to the GPU being worn out.

I want to get a new one, im either looking at a 1070 OC or a 1080. BUT im not sure if its worth it because my cpu might bottleneck the card.

would it be worth getting a whole new system instead?

You'll be fine with either new card.

Agreed, Take it from someone is still using a 3770 with a 1070, i'm not looking to upgrade the processor just yet. I thought about it but the difference in gaming is not worth it.
