I find these lawsuits ridiculous, Some slime infested sleazy law firm sues a company for something, Gets some money, Keeps said money and then slinks off back under its slimy rock.

To be fair the point of a class action lawsuit is that it's on behalf of potentially very large numbers of people, Eg everyone who has bought a given product. While you are right that these legal companies bag absolutely ridiculous fees in the process, most of the money from winning a case like this would be distributed amongst owners of PS5 controllers, possibly just ones with the relevant issues, to 'make up' for the issue claimed.

Yeah and the only person who gets anything from it at all is the lawyer.

Money from lawsuits very rarely makes it to the actually affected groups, It's nigh on always snatched by the slimy lawyers and all lawyers are slimy.

So, when companies pull of anti-consumer practices or sell subpar products, how will the situation be rectified if not via lawsuits?
Going off against class action lawyers sounds like biting the hand that feeds you - even if the resulting kickback is quite often restricted to US customers.
