Leaked 6xxx specs

Nice! We should expect stock performance between the 5850 and 5870 then? I wonder how it will clock and how it will be priced.

Well they certainly need to be pretty aggressive pricing wise. You only have to take a look at the 460 to see why.

I am amazed Nvidia haven't come up with anything else recently though. I mean yeah yeah, they could be waiting to see what ATI do, but waiting has been their downfall of late.

i was thinkin they would be 32nm,the 6770 looks like it will destroy the 5770

i guess it will be priced around the 5 series

Well if that's the case and they are priced accordingly the 460 ought to be very worried.

TBH I would strongly imagine that ATI are aiming at beheading the 460. Nothing else really has that sort of a lead over any of their similarly priced products.

the 460 will still have the folding card up its sleave tho

It may well, but compared to gamers folders pale into insignificance. This isn't about spending billions of dollars on a card that can fold dude. These cards are made for gaming, folding was just something that happened.

If you look in magazines, on the net ETC none of these cards are reviewed on their folding abilities. And I'm sure ATI won't lose any sleep over that. Selling cards for folding won't keep Nvidia afloat.

However, price does concern me. ATI haven't even really tried to bring down the 5 series prices. The 5770 costs about £5 less now than it did when I got mine in Jan and I am pretty sure they are not going to be anywhere near close to costing what the comparitive 5 series does because it will make the cards obsolete overnight and piss off every retailer there is.

Mind you having said that I don't know if ATI are still selling stocks of 5 series and they may have stopped production already.

Im hearing the usual TWICE as powerfull as the older model..... That would put the 6770 up above the 5850, and would make a VERY interesting 6870 v 480 review

/cough cough

hmm the 6770's performance looks good wonder how good it is against the gtx 460

It should easily beat the 460 as it doesn't appear to be even in the same class. The 6750 is closer to the 460. It looks like the 6770 will be more on par with a 470.

It would be really REALLY dumb of ATI not to release something that absolutely kicks the 460's bum tbh. Like, drags it down a dark alley, kicks its bum and then wees on it and says demoralising things to it.

It's just how much they are going to charge for the beating

AMD doesn't even need to do that (although the image of that in my head is pretty damn funny) all they need to do is tie the 460 (slightly beat would be nice too) and keep the price the same as the 460 or a tad bit lower.

expect this site fella?

the 460 is a awsome gamer and folder,so sales will be up for both them reasons AMD might have the gaming part (we need reviews first) but ATM sales of the 460 for gaming and folding will keep them afloat

The money generated from the reviews on this site for sales of the 460 for folding would probably cover them doing lunch.

Once.

Anandtech puts folding results in their nVidia reviews now too. /2 lunches.

Edit: Guru3D also shows folding numbers and has a pretty active team to boot (in the top 70).

/3 lunches.

haha !

Actually there was this reciept doing the rounds once from some bankers in NY. Something like $15,000. The champagne was $3k a bottle

But yes, large corporations = love to spend money. For example Gamestop. They closed loads of stores due to the recession yet still managed to send every SM and DM to Vegas for an all inclusive week's vacation with free hotels

Nvidia are losing support by the week. BFG? gone. XFX? not even bothering. EVGA? Well, bad noises coming from there ATM.

BTW. Question...

Has any one tried to order a 460 to find it sold out? Was there a time where you couldn't get them?

Because sheesh, when the 5 series released you couldn't get them for love nor money, they were like rocking horse poo. And that wasn't a brief thing either, that went on for months. And I would bet it wasn't because they weren't making tons of card, but rather because they were selling them all.

Even the 460, which is Nvidia's best card in years (since the 8800GTX just IMO) has been really easy to get. And I don't think that's down to huge production.

Last week this pal of mine tells me he is building a PC. Wants a Phenom 950 and wants to use his DDR2. And no matter HOW HARD I tried to tell him to get a 460 he got a 5830 due to the power consumption.

It's actually quite amazing how many people are concerned about that now days.
