haha !
Actually there was this reciept doing the rounds once from some bankers in NY. Something like $15,000. The champagne was $3k a bottle
But yes, large corporations = love to spend money. For example Gamestop. They closed loads of stores due to the recession yet still managed to send every SM and DM to Vegas for an all inclusive week's vacation with free hotels
Nvidia are losing support by the week. BFG? gone. XFX? not even bothering. EVGA? Well, bad noises coming from there ATM.
BTW. Question...
Has any one tried to order a 460 to find it sold out? Was there a time where you couldn't get them?
Because sheesh, when the 5 series released you couldn't get them for love nor money, they were like rocking horse poo. And that wasn't a brief thing either, that went on for months. And I would bet it wasn't because they weren't making tons of card, but rather because they were selling them all.
Even the 460, which is Nvidia's best card in
years (since the 8800GTX just IMO) has been really easy to get. And I don't think that's down to huge production.
Last week this pal of mine tells me he is building a PC. Wants a Phenom 950 and wants to use his DDR2. And no matter HOW HARD I tried to tell him to get a 460 he got a 5830 due to the power consumption.
It's actually quite amazing how many people are concerned about that now days.
