Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

i'll be honest, that does look pretty nice in there, now all you need is a white aio really.

Maybe but I won't put a Corsair AIO in there, the only reason I've got Corsair ram in there is I didn't have to pay for it, it was a straight swap for my GSkill ram as they really needed tight timings and no bling and couldn't get it from their supplier and figured this was a fair swap.
And I don't know who else does white AIO's and forget me modding it as I'll mod it all right by wrecking it LOL!

So just my rotten luck turns out one of the ram sticks is faulty turned my system on this morning and it wouldn't boot tested the ram and ones no good and to top it all off sat down at my chair this evening as I got home and it broke and luckily pitched forwards rather than backwards so no injuries so not a happy boy ATM!

Snagged a Ryzen 5 1600 AF for $104.99. That's still $20 more than it should be, but most sites have it priced $130-$150. Ryzen 3 3100 should be $99, but I can't find those for under $130 either. Should be a huge upgrade on my kids' computer. It's rocking an AMD Athlon X2 with 4GB ram....lol.

This has been a collection of purchases rather than a single one, but it's been a nice project to keep me sane not seeing my partner during lockdown.

I got bored, had a project itch. So I thought I'd go back in time; to the late 90s/early 00s and build myself this:

Case is new, but getting an old style in decent condition for a decent price right now is damn near impossible.

Rest of the system:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Motherboard: Gigabyte 7VT600-P-RZ, VIA KT600, Socket A/462
RAM: 3GiB DDR 400MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 7000 AGP 64MiB
PSU: SeaSonic SS-500ET 500W

For anyone who didn't see, WYP did me a massive favour by 3D Printing new mounts for the CPU Cooler so I can now mount any 80mm fan to it.

Floppy drive works great, managed to get 100 good disks plus holder for a good price. DVD drive is IDE, and that was a nightmare to find on its own; even sourced an old Logitech PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard just for it as well.

It's not done yet. I'm trying to get a Radeon X850 AGP card for it but they are like gold dust. I did consider getting a GeForce 6000 but allegedly there is a bug that causes them to crash when paired with an Athlon XP and a VIA chipset which I don't have time or money to look into.

PiTV 1.2 is my next project once I can get a suitable TV to use as a base.

I saw somewhere on YT somebody is making those type of cases that will hold modern day pc parts
This one does too. Standard ATX motherboard, PSU, Disk Drives, massive GPUs, and all that. Only thing that lets it down in my view is that it only takes two 80mm fans so water cooling is off the table, but other than that it's not bad if you want a retro case.

New mountain bike, been a couple of years since i've ridden, gonna do the Jurrasic Coast (Poole to Plymouth) at the end of the month if Boris opens up the UK borders...

Corsair H115i Pro XT RGB, I liked the Corsair A500 but only got it due to it being an open box sale and cheap as hell but the performance is pretty s$%t to be honest especially on a 3950X, I needed something that performed well and is nice and neat, Not too keen on 360 AIO's as they just look way too big and the performance difference aint worth the price so settled on the 280mm.

Was it sponsored by Corsair? ^_^

Pulled the trigger on this today, not sure when it's arriving, though. :D

Does your unit have bad backlight bleed?

Theres some, not noticeable when gaming, at least for me.

Not sure if it's the higher refresh or the curve but I#m getting headaches and motion sickness when using it though.

Try using it from farther away? See if that helps? Just as a test run. If it solves the problem it could be the brightness causing the eye strain headaches.

For me if I use any electronics or put my glasses on right after I wake up I will get the eye strain headaches(I believe most common type is called a tension headache) throughout the day. I have to ease myself into it. This might be your problem if the 600nits is causing discomfort. It could be to large of a jump from normal ambient light to that level of brightness for your eyes

I've been waiting for a VR headset with great lenses and high res for ages, As I mainly play Elite Dangerous in VR the washed out colours and aliasing even with the Cosmos is for me at least, An eye sore.

Pre-ordered the HP Reverb G2 VR HMD after seeing multiple videos, Based on early lengthy previews from trusted VR centric channels, It's the best HMD for picture quality/colour you can get, Made in conjunction with Valve and Microsoft.

Specs - 2160x2160 per eye, Combined resolution of 4160x2160, Total pixel count of 9,331,200, Compare that to the Valve Index's 4,608,000, This thing packs a hell of a visual upgrade as well as having the biggest sweet spot out of all available HMD's on the market.

Audio is the same as the Valve Index as it uses the exact same built in headphones, Lenses are out of this world for colour apparently, FoV is 114', Refresh rate is 90Hz, Hardware IPD adjustment, Inside out tracking etc... quite looking forward to these, Will probably arrived around September or so :)
