An Asus Xonar DG or DGX will serve nicely I think

Stick with an Asus Xonar then or if you can find one, a Creative X-Fi (not a zxr/recon3d)

I'd go the other way, Soundblaster Z.

They can be had for £40 or so with the mic on Ebay and the drivers are much better than Asus's. (I run both, BTW).

>.< Asus drivers are coming, don't buy a Z on account of drivers taking a little longer for Win10.. honestly.

i stoped using creative when they stopped putting "what you hear" as a recording device in drivers, i have to use REALLY old drivers on my creative card downstairs because i use it for my mixing and i need the what you hear option.

it makes no sense to remove it either. they said it was to help prevent audio piracy, but apps like xplit can record audio direct any way. so whats the point.

Use the Uni Xonar drivers instead of the official Asus ones, they are better and updated on a regular basis. Windows 10 support was added in early September with the Uni drivers while people were still waiting on Asus to add support to the official drivers :\
