No currently only the Wooting keyboards have that feature, The laser switch on the Razer just uses a beam of light instead of an actual mechanical switch, Pretty cool stuff.

Yeah, saw a couple of vids and a few reviews and they are opto only. I did read about it first, and apparently they feel like blues which are my fave. Bit noisier, but that is irrelevant because I am usually blasting my ear drums out with very loud music over my headphones.
I quite liked the EVGA mech board with VFD, but it was the same price and quite old in terms of design. The Alienware (higher end one) was only £90 or so on sale, but it's a bit boring. The Omen is simply too expensive and not very good, and that left Asus (too expensive for what you get) and Corsair which I am not really a fan of (just don't like how they look, just personal taste).
I'd been going through comparing them for weeks, so just decided to get the Razer as it was cheapish for a top end keyboard and has a rad wrist pad with mad LEDs.

I spent nearly 40 hours deliberating. I kept going from "Buy it !" to "No, don't buy it". I even got back out of bed last night, fired up the PC and ended up not ordering it.
I wanted the Huntsman, but I wanted the elite. And that was why it was so hard, because that's a £200 keyboard. Then today it comes up on special for £160, made the decision easy.
I just hope it's everything it's cracked up to be and as good as people say it is. I must say it is beautiful to look at, I just worry I've made a mistake and it will break and Razer will be their usual selves about it.
Let me know how you get on with this one.

I will do mate. Will probably knock up a review, given it's a typing thing. Will be a good way to give it a thorough testing.
It has arrived, and it is nicely made I gotta admit. The wrist pad looks really nice too, and again is nice and solid. I've had two Razer keyboards in the past and neither of them failed, so hey I am hopeful. What I wanted was a Ducky Year Of The Dog ed but they are £240 which was too much.
It seems that Razer don't actually make their own switches. That may be why my BF3 mech board I had was so good (seriously it was actually a really good board that, I just tired of the theme and the size but that will be sorted soon..).
I don't know how well I will get on at it, but basically I need to retire from bike building (already done) and modding. The arthritis in my hands is getting so bad that some days I can barely hold onto a screwdriver, so it's for the best. Plus it will allow me to keep my flat much tidier (though I still clean the crap out of it as I have OCD. The toilet gets cleaned and bleached virtually every day). So yeah, hoping to do more gaming (I've got 8 unopened Xbone games and two PC) and just chillax.
I will get back out riding once Spring hits, but using the same bikes I have with just regular maintenance. I want to be able to get out my sofa bed this winter and just veg under a nice thick duvet watching telly
can't do that ATM as there is PC stuff everywhere.

My biggest gripe with Razer proprietary switches were that excluding the stealth, the clicky switches were the loudest i have heard. Far worse that Cherry MX loudest one.

I've got a bit of a fetish for a loud click tbh. I have a kb with blues, and they are sooo much noisier than browns but so much more tactile. It really doesn't bother me tbh, only my pal when we are skyping and I am firing out emails lmao. He hates it now, boy has he got a shock coming
90% of the time I have headphones on too, which is why I like the loud clicky keys. You can feel it. With browns? you can't feel anything much at all really, not until they bottom out.

Might be ok when you live alone. But for me, when my partner is trying to sleep, it isnt pleasant and nice for her. Razer are louder than blues imo. then again, I had one of the black widows where they first released their own switches. So its a few years ago.

I wanted a 4K screen that wasn't too expensive but IPS. I saw it for £360 on Amazon and is the model that is currently rated as best 4K monitor on rtings.com so had to go for it.
A bonus for me, although this isn't a true HDR screen it can be detected as a HDR screen and receive HDR signal which is super useful for my own projects.

Looks like Dell are doing Black Friday. Been looking at these used on Ebay for ages for around £35 (they are about £55-60 new) and then Alienware are selling them for £24 inc.

Bought Rainbow Six Siege on sale for a friend so we can play together. Also bought myself a second account to mess around with. One of my favourite multiplayer games in recent years.
Also had to buy a new mouse pad. I've apparently had my desk positioned too high for years, and pinched my ulnar nerve because of it. Got elbow pains, and my pinky- and ring finger felt numb.
Lowered my desk and bought this large Dream Machines mouse pad and the symptoms have almost completely gone after just two weeks. Plus, a nice, large mouse pad with good surface and stitched edges for €14 was too good of a deal to pass on.

My ass was getting numb on my rickety office chair so managed to get this at a local computer shop for £100 as the box was opened, Brand new and still in pieces in sealed bags but the box was opened so the owner at the store did me a deal, Considering it goes for £300 new I think I got a good deal ^_^

Yeah it was £35 before and things like that (you know, actually useful things) are not cheap and never seem to go on sale. I was all but resigned to drop £35 next week, then it came up so I took the money out of my savings. Worth doing tbh. It was a Lightning deal, bugger me they go fast. Get to checkout and you're all like "QUICK I ONLY HAZ FIVE MINS LEFT !". I think with that one there was about 15 mins, but I was still rushing to get it ordered hehe.
My mouse comes today (got the DHL email last night) as does the hub and other parts (fittings, fan extensions etc). I also have a bottle of liquid for vaping that was attempted last week, so that should do everything and I can then go back to bloody bed.
Edit. Gonna waffle.. Basically I have not used the Asus headset very much (Centurion) because I would prefer to connect it up on the desk rather than to the PC. IT's a bit far away and the cables are a bit short for my liking. I'm deffo lining my nest for Fallout 76 though. I am also (you heard it here first) retiring from all large future projects. I have one bike left to build and that's it. It is becoming too much and making me ill. My flat looks like the local tip (I was up until 1am cleaning my bedroom but man it looks great now) and I am just getting overwhelmed.
So it is time to bow out gracefully. 45 is young to retire from pretty much everything, but with a brain like mine I feel 90.

Not planning to even mine, but they were on clearance for 25e so grabbed one. I've been thinking of building a home server/HTPC so I guess now I know the platform.
At least it has space for, I dunno, plenty of audio cards and pci-e sata adapters which are vital for such use.
