Warner Brothers go Blu-Ray exclusive

Me too tbh. It was always the better specced format and looks fantastic.

Plus I have a PS3 :D

Exactly my thinking... Even before I bought my PS3 I just thought Blu-Ray seemed the better choice for various reasons.

But now I have my PS3.. I must say what a good decision by WB. :)

I always thought it was the better one. More space, better specd. I dont have a PS3 or 360 but i thought Blu Ray would alway sbe better for games. For consoles and PCs alike.

Its gonna be a main buying factor for a ps3 for me too

blueray has like 50gb of storage

hd-dvd is like 20gb isnt it?

plus...blueray is blue not plain

winner!

Nobody seems to mention the extra dosh you have to pay for blue ray and the fact that blue ray changes it spec every bleeding minute.

You have to pay extra dosh for HD DVD too. Once it's in mass production prices will go down, just like DVD did. I remember paying nigh on £20 for new DVD's out

Looking at that table the BR doesn't lose out on anything.. It has every feature of the HD-DVD and then more on top.

i dont mean compared to last gen, i meant comparing the current gen. Blu-ray costs considerably more the hd-dvd.

It's not really that much more for the pre-recorded disks and the players will come down in price soon enough. The media is also due to come down in price as Sony and Toshiba are opening a few new production plants.

If the whole industry turns to Blu-Ray then it will get even cheaper, price for the consumer will be fine given a bit of time

Which one is the pron industry adopting ? That`ll be the most popular one, or the one that`ll outlast the race.

As for media for use at home, it`s too big a concern writing-wize. I just don`t see people writing 20g or 40g+ (whatever) discs apart from warez.

Outside of a rewriteable br/hd dvd, not many peoples will find a use for it. And it`s a big outlay for a backup when u can buy external drives etc.
