Lets face it, most of us have Google set as our homepage. The convenience of being able to fire up that new browser window or create a new tab and have that simplistic Google search box beaming back at you is infinitely useful. But what if it could get EVEN better?

We're all enthusiasts right? So most of our searches are Motherboard this, Memory that. Reviews, News, things to spend our latest pay cheque on...etc. Well what if in addition to your usual Google search, you could also perform searches across all of the worlds largest and most respected technology forums, blogs, websites and even retailers in a single click! Handy huh?

This is exactly what we're striving to achieve with OC3D's latest invention: TechSearch. By harnessing the power of Google's massive index along with our knowledge of global tech websites, we've managed to put together a custom search that's entirely focused on returning only the results you're looking for. No crummy price comparison site results, no dodgy unheard of retailers. Just the good stuff.

Check out TechSearch now, and be sure to set it as your homepage if you find it useful. After all, its got all the features of your usual Google home, along with everything you need as an enthusiast!

TechSearch can also be accessed from these conveniently short URL's:

This is deffo one to set as your home page, and then get as many people as possible using it. We hope for the most of you this will be a permanent replacement for google!

Instant loved the review and article search. It works exactly as I would expect it and I wish I could integrate it into my Firefox's Omnibar search.

The tech shopping isn't nearly as useful considering that there's no price sorting and Newegg is usually the first up anyways.

I'll probably write up a Greasemonkey or Stylish script to change the background color of the search results later on but so far, I'm loving the concept =D

been playing around with it,it seems awsome all the reviews are in date order so newest being first whitch is perfect.

only gripe is it seems to load quite slow i mean getting to the search bar

I'm going to be tweaking a few things over the next few days to try and get a near instant page load for us all. Also (on FF at least) I've noticed if you make it your homepage it seems to create a hard cache of the page so that it springs up instantly.

Yeah the Shopping function could undoubtedly be improved. At the time of designing the site it was a toss-up between file searching and shopping. Maybe the former may have been more useful.

Hey guys, one thing I need to point out as it has been asked, is all we do is give google a list of sites to narrow down a search if you use the tech forums/articles option.

The way the search items are displayed (ie who comes top) is in the normal google SEO style, it in no way bumps OC3D to the top. Also we have all of OC3D competitors listed in the search items too so its in no way what so ever weighted towards us.

We really do see this as a viable alternative to google, because it auto sets to s standard google seach, yet has the option for you to be able to drastically narrow down the search results if you are looking for something tech related.

It is still a WIP but with your help we can make this much better for everyone.

Great work, this is my new homepage. I'll add feedback and comments after I've used it a little more, but sounds right up my street (and probably most members of this community)!

I searched my old motherboard, it came up with wikipedia, images of gun crosshairs and sun glasses.

But it then did find computing sites about the asus crosshair....

I also couldnt post this from the article
