Really? That's shocking. I'd never occur to me that an NVMe of the correct Gen wouldn't just work. Luckily, this Asus laptop was second-hand, free because it was broken.

Yeah. I thought I had enough SODIMM laying around that something would work, surprised nothing did. I think I've only once before had an issue with RAM not working, and that was a pre-built desktop (not mine) and some add-in RAM someone had bought.

Good thought, thanks for the reply, but the BIOS is very bare-bones, no such options unfortunately. I did do a search to see if there's any sort of hidden, advanced BIOS options for this Laptop, but no luck.. My current assumption is that this machine is just really picky when it comes to RAM...
